CAVO Design Concepts

  • Smart monitoring system - Our program will dynamically monitor user's performance during the testing period, and smartly determine the next test subjects, which are most appropriate to test user's language skills.
  • Dynamic design - Unlike traditional computer adaptive test programs, we don't assign static test questions or difficulty levels to our test library. During testing period, a vocabulary matching process is performed to selected confusion questions which are in the same category as the test question. Moreover, the difficulty level associated with each library entry is generated dynamically instead of using static value.
  • The "Time Factor" - Time spent to finish the test is considered to be one of important factors when assessing user's language skill. Our program implements this concept when evaluate user's final score.
  • Vocabulary Difficulty Index (VDI). This factor can be calculated automatically by CAVO assessment system based on the historic data. The correction rate of each vocabulary decides its Vocabulary Difficulty Index. VDI will be used to adjust vocabularies difficulty level to fit for future assessment.
  • Comprehensive vocabulary library - Our vocabulary library contains more than 60, 000 everyday Chinese vocaubularies. It covers both breadth and depth. You can try our online Chinese dictionary.
  • Easy calibration - Tests can be easily caibrated to fit individual institition's need.
